Chapter 2 Class Discussion 1

Q February 14th Discussion During the class on February 14th the following questions will be posed to discuss by either turning your mic on to talk or by answering in the chat. You are required to respond to at least one and encouraged to respond to more. Once you respond in class so we can hear each others responses you will summarize your verbal answer or copy you chat answer into this assignment. This can be completed during the class and will add to your participation grade. You can still do this if absent but small point deductions will apply. There will be leniency for 1 absence and excused absences, please communicate with me throughout the semester. Additional questions may be posed during the class- answers to those if complete can be used here as well. • Would you willingly participate in a sociological study that could potentially put your health and safety at risk, but had the potential to help thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people? For example, would you participate in a study of a new drug that could cure diabetes or cancer, even if it meant great inconvenience and physical discomfort for you or possible permanent damage?

Yes, I willingly will participate in a sociological study that will put my health and safety at risk if it means I can help millions of people. I always enjoy helping people, and giving back to the community. I would participate in an any new study for a new drug that could cure any disease, or if it causes me great discomfort. My grandma passed of cancer, and I would not want anyone going through the pain she went through, and I also would not want someone to lose a family member to any diseases or virus.
